Telling Our PSE Stories

Blog 2

As I have reflected upon my life through the writing of my memoir, Fiery Trail To A Walking Prayer, I think I have been spiritually guided all along. I had my first undeniable PSE, a vision, back in the 1980’s when I was in my thirties. I was a young single mother with little time for such strange things. I didn’t tell anyone about it. I had just won a long, hard-fought battle for the custody of my children and I didn’t want to jeopardize their care. I had been accused of all manner of misdeeds during this legal battering, including drug-use and just being outright crazy. Although the judge had decided custody in my favor after two years of courtroom battles, I was always in danger of renewed legal harassment.

I feared telling anyone about this vision. I didn’t tell my therapists or my friends. No one. And yet, this vision which I do tell about in my memoir, sent me on a covert quest for understanding; “What does it mean?” It wasn’t until my encounter with Charles in the park (see the story of Charles in the Preface from page one of the website) some 40 years later, I began to see the continued pattern of Spirit interventions in my life. Spirit is trying to get through to all of us in so many creative and varied ways. I call these ways PSEs.

The intention of my memoir and this website is to highlight the many ways we experience this divine guidance. I hope you will share a story of your own. It is anonymous, if you choose. My hope is that as we read each other's stories, we will begin to recognize how Spirit is working in our lives. As one of my graduate students from a class I taught for 10 years exploring PSEs said  “I didn’t think I’d had a PSE until I heard the stories of others.” Please help by sharing your stories.
